We started with isolation exersises by concentrating on a single part of the body. It reminded me of the Feldenkrais technique.
We walked incorporating the exercises. Raymon said it was a mindless activity and that we’d never do it again: acting is not just physical; the actor must know his/her body. Prof pointed out that there is no “body type” for acting. Acting is
…………………….hollistic...
An actor will not seperate elements of his/her being when acting: body, mind, religion, social environment, surrounding are part of the actor.
I am supposed to figure out whether I am a leader or a follower. Well I know that
.................I am
.......................a
.......................leader
Part of the reason for that is that I'm a good facilitator. I'm still not sure exactly why I'm a leader. When I'm working with a team, it just sort of happens. I'll figure out why in time....maybe in this class.
We also did the mirro activity. I really did try to focus. My first partner was great. It was easy because she and I were the same height and flexability.
My three other partners and I constantly broke our concentration by laughing. Although we didn't work so well together, I am thankful for these people who teach me about focus or a lack of it. Laughter is contagious, and still essential in some way in this activity...somehow.
