On Thursday, I tried to re-establishing a connection between voice and body. I moved around in rhythm, expelling my voice with it. Raymon got the class to move a lot in the pyramid stance:
.................... .......stable
..................a....... ............... position.
He told us aboriginal people all over the world understand the connection between voice and body. This is something that many societies have forgotten. People tend to think that the head is more important than any other part of the body. I was trying to get every part of my body in sync- it was hard.
I love aboriginal music of North America. It really has
..................................spirit
in it, and maybe this connection that aboriginal people understand is the reason for it. Their worldy knowledge of everything animate and inanimate is astounding.
There are three "rules" for the class:
1. Be responsible for yourself and take care of your mind/body.
2. Care for others, take care of those around you.
3. Take care of the environment, of your surroundings.
These rules apply to anywhere outside of class.
I think they are good rules to live by.
